Collect the following supplies first:
- Transparent cabochons – round/oval, 40x30 mm in size
- Adhesive glue
- High resolution crafty prints on a broad paper material
- Paint brush
- Tea towel
Step 2: Coat a fine layer of your adhesive glue in order to seal your print. This way, you’ll secure your print once you stick it to your cabochons. Take a while for it to dry.
Step 3: Put your cabochons on the paper and drawn an outline. Cut it out; you only need a piece that is very slightly smaller than a cabochon you are using.
Step 4: Now, using water to clean the cabochon and dry it up using a tea towel. Then, apply a fine layer of your glue on each side of your print & cabochon. Cover the entire surfaces. Pop the bubbles using a brush.
Step 5: While it is still wet, attach the back side of your cabochon to the print. You may have air-pockets, so squeeze gently. Don’t worry if your cabochon gets all wet of glue, you can always remove it with water later on. Also, do not press so tightly that all the glue comes out.
Step 6: Let the cabochon dry by turning it over. Your glue will appear still wet to you.
Step 7: After 30 minutes, you will notice all the glue dried up. You may find small dots on your paper; worry not, these are not bubbles. Once you practice, they will go away, because they appear as a result of using less glue.
Step 8: Cover the other side of your print with a fine coating of glue in order to seal it. Please note that you have to be very careful in applying glue. Finely apply it into a pattern that does not allow any damages to your print surface.
Step 9: Now, take a moment around 15 minutes in order to dry it. You need to you damp your tea towel with water. Clean some spots on your cabochons using the tea towels. Make sure you clean the water by sides because you do not want residue of glue lying around making it appear dirty.
Step 10: Wait for a several hours before you attach your cabochons to a jewelry setting. Once you are sure that it has dried, then use any sort of glue to attach it to your jewelry.
That was all! Hope you enjoyed and practice it. It was a simple and easy guide to follow. You can make as many cabochons as you want. Try practicing the fundamentals of applying glue before you set out to make for your friends and family.
